FLUTE AND PIANO instructor

Helia is an active Vancouver, BC-based flute and piano performer. She performed as a flutist and piccoloist with University of Minnesota Symphony Orchestra, University of Minnesota Wind Ensemble, Boise State Symphonic Wind, Boise State Symphony Orchestra, Tehran Flute Choir, Austria-Iran Symphony Orchestra, University of Tehran Orchestra, and numerous chamber ensembles. As a principal flutist, she performed repertoire by Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Rossini, and Debussy.
She received outstanding talent prize to perform solo recitals at the Fadjr International Music Festival. She also is a first-prize winner in the Tehran Music Schools Festival in 2005.
Helia has presented workshops and clinics at the Iran Flute Society and served as a flute, music theory, and ear training instructor at various private music institutes. She is a founding member and committee member of the Iran Flute Society. She served as a flute instructor and ensemble coach at Boise summer chamber music camp in 2017. She is currently studying Digital Music production at Langara College. She studied as a doctorate candidate in flute performance and teaching assistant in music theory at the University of Minnesota as a student of Immanuel Davis. She received her Master degree from Boise State University with Nicole Molumby where she served as music theory and ear training teaching assistant. She received her bachelor degree from the University of Tehran as a flute student of Azin Movahed.
